inhabitant: lifestyle sports brand
The amount of locally grown clothing brands in Japan is vast. Not like ‘Oh look, this mountain is quite vast,’ but more in the tune of ‘Oy! It’s as vast as the entire Marvel cosmic universe!’ I mean, we could devote an entire blog in just writing about how awesome and far reaching Japanese fashion and clothing brands are. It’s nutty.
Anywho, I wanted to bring your attention to a little shop I first ran into while walking about in the grand city of Tokyo a few years ago. Bring that a little more closer and you will find yourself in the famous area of Harajuku. Outside of the main streets that many roam up and down on, is a side street full of glorious shops and boutiques. Definitely a place I always find myself in when my feet land on Tokyo soil. It’s probably way more famous than I think it is. Actually, let me think about that, yah, it has to be a famous area. But please let me continue to believe how unknown this place is.
inhabitant likes to makes clothes for you and I. We all live in the same world so understandably, we should enjoy what we wear. This company enjoys making street style and outdoor sportswear. I found it easy to find goods relating to that next hiking/camping trip or a weekend bound for the slopes. And if you need something to walk down the street next to your significant other, yah, they got you covered.
inhabitant certainly has its own feel and aura. Yes, there are many companies in this space, but inhabitant genuinely feels sincere and ingrained in its Japanese (past & present) and outdoor roots. I feel welcome each and every time I visit and though their products can be a little pricey, I know the quality is great along with the fact I support the image they are trying to represent. They of course promote an active lifestyle enjoying the outdoor world and to seize the amazing experiences that sit and wait for us right outside our front door.

There are a few official shops located throughout Japan; Tokyo, Osaka and the newly opened Sapporo shop. You’ll also find various boutiques in malls and their product lines are offered in retailers across the nation.
If you are looking for inhabitant products outside of Japan, I don’t believe there is an easy method of buying their goods outside of mail forwarding services or the phone a friend method. It isn’t impossible but eh, you now have another reason to go to Japan. And believe me, there are a vast number of reasons why you should visit Japan. n_n

ps, if you happen to listen to the 60s jingle on their website, there is no way you are getting that out of your head.
