Osaka Loop Line

“In Osaka I saw you last.
Your face pressed up against the glass.
Across the tracks you’re looking at.
As bullets pass behind your back.”

Sorry, were you expecting to learn about thee Osaka Loop Line? Hopefully not, as perhaps you will be slightly let down. Actually, you might be very happy to hear this next part. Just take a listen…

This song is part of an album that mixed the talents of Ra Ra Riot’s lead singer, Wesely Miles, and Vampire Weekend’s keyboardist, Rostam Batmanglij. Their little project was named ‘Discovery’ and the LP was simply entitled, ‘LP’. How elegant. This album is already 6 years old. o.O

I stumbled upon it 4 years ago, when my friend, now my wife, played it for me after figuring out what kind of music I enjoyed listening to. I still listen to this album a lot as it really fits my life and experiences I have lived through. Japan is referenced and interlaced in many of the songs and that’s probably way I love it so much. Well, not to mention the electronic vibes and repeats hits a home run in my book.

So, next time you are in Osaka, jump on the Loop Line, put your headphones on, and listen to the song above. Heck, grab a seat and play the whole album as the city lights whiz by on the other side of the window. I guarantee it will put a smile on your face. That, and heh, you’ll be in Japan. Awesome! n_n
